History of the San Antonio Pathways Team

The San Antonio Pathways started as a collaboration between the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and Alamo Community College District (ACCD) in 2007. Both the ACCD and the THECB realized the need to improve alignment between both high school and college curriculum. The THECB and ACCD expanded the San Antonio Pathways project to include 6 school districts and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In early 2008, San Antonio Pathways partners signed a formal agreement to share student level data. By the July 2008, data from all partners had been collected and was ready to start reporting to the teams. In September 2008, the first meeting of the faculty vertical alignment teams had taken place.  The San Antonio Pathways project finished its first year in June 2009. [ Back to top of Page]

The San Antonio Regional Coordinator

The local regional coordinator is the common bond between pathways projects and the teams. The regional coordinators job is help provide material support (e.g. supplies and meeting spaces) for vertical team members. They also organize team meetings, ensure communication between partners, and provide general help for keeping teams focused on their goal of better alignment of high school and college curriculum.

Nancy Cobb has served as the first San Antonio Pathways Regional Coordinator. [ Back to top of Page]
